Hi there,
great day - I won the greencard lottery!
But here is my little problem:
Since 5 years we're living in the US cause my husband is stationed here with the German Air Force.
I registered last year for DV 2013 with our adress in Germany cause we tought we'll be back in Germany by this time of the year.
But things changes and the AirForce extended our stay until summer 2013.

Of course I got an EU Rank Number from the KCC - what should I do now?
Does it matter, that I actually doesn't live in Germany right now? Should I inform the KCC to get an US rank number or should I just fill out the required forms (DS 230) and make an adress change?

Dear Morgan,

First, congratulations on winning the U.S. Green Card Lottery! It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and therefore it is very important to take the utmost care in the application process. Remember, Winning the lottery does not mean that you will automatically be given a green card. You must complete several forms, and you will be subject to careful scrutiny by the U.S. State Department to confirm your eligibility. The application process can be confusing and time consuming. The slightest mistake can result in a denial.

To answer questions:
a. The initial application form is a DS-230,it is four pages in two parts. Later you will need an Affidavit of Support, which is a longer form, to be completed either by you or someone in the U.S. who is willing to assure your financial viability once you immigrate.
b. The processing fee is $330, plus a biometrics (fingerprinting) fee of about $80. You should not pay these fees until they are specifically requested by the KCC. You will probably need to pay with a bank issued cashierʻs check or money order.

Winning the lottery does not guarantee you will get a visa. You have not won a Green Card, what you have won is eligibility to immediately apply for a green card - something most people wait years for. But, like any other U.S. visa, to obtain your green card you must first undergo a rigorous application and qualification process to satisfy the U.S. Government that you are truly qualified. You will be assigned a “Rank Order Number” that determines the order in .

You are allowed to have an attorney represent you, and it is often advisable to hire a qualified U.S. Immigration Attorney to prepare and submit your application for you rather than attempting to do it yourself.

i have been selected for further processing for the dv lottery 2013 program. i would like to find out some answers to some questions i have. i live in nigeria and it is my country of eligibilty.
a. As a single applicant how many forms do i have to fill to send back to KCC?
b. how much am i to pay to KCC for processing and how do i send the money as i have no bank details of KCC.
c. please do u know any reliable courier service i could trust to be able to send my documents to KCC?

How can I cancel my application with USAFIS? How can I ensure they will not submit it on my behalf after the cancellation and without my knowledge?
Please advice? I don't want my fees back, I just want to ensure they will not submit it so that I don't disqualify by submitting my application twice.

Last thing, how can I know that I am disqualified?
