Navigate to the FREE GREEN CARD LOTTERY page and press the Click Here to Register Now FREE link. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and answer "YES" to the question, "I want to be entered in the U.S. Green Card Lottery for FREE", then press the SAVE button. On the next page, press the ENTER THE LOTTERY button. Beginning October 11, 2008 we will redirect all new DV-2010 lottery applicants directly to the official U.S. State Department web site at www.dvlottery.state.gov.
Do you accept standard photos and printed green card lottery applications? ANSWER: No, myUSAi no longer accepts hardcopy applications with regular (printed) photographs for entry in the electronic diversity visa lottery. This process was too labor intensive and our resources too limited. If you need a full service lottery provider who accepts printed applications, we recommend you use one of the fee-based lottery services recommended in reviews by myGreencard.com.
I have been trying to upload my children's lottery photos without success. How do I upload my remaining photos?ANSWER: Since we currently redirect all DV-2010 applicants directly to the official State Department web site, this presents a special case for those who partially completed their lottery application. In this case, you need to reenter your application using the instructions below.
I received an email that said there was a "Problem with our DV-2010 application". How do I make sure I am re-entered correctly in this year's lottery?ANSWER: If you received this email, this means that myUSAi was unable to upload your application for one of several reasons. In these cases, myUSAi.org will NOT upload your previous registration to the State Department website to PREVENT your registration from being disqualified for duplicate applications. Please do the following: INSTRUCTIONS - Please re-enter DV-2010 directly at www.dvlottery.state.gov.
- Use the government photo validator to confirm your new photos are compatible with the new government specifications.
- Complete your new application by approximately November 21, 2008 to ensure you have no last minute registration problems.
- Keep your government registration number. In March 2009 a new link on the government website will allow you to check your registration to see if you won the lottery. This should be a great new service that you will find very useful.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we want to ensure your application is correct and you have the best chance of winning. Remember, the official closing date of the lottery is Monday, December 1, 2008 at 12:00 PM EST.
