I forgot my password, what do I do?

ANSWER:  Click on the Forgot password link and enter your email address (the address you used when you registered.) The system will send you a new password.  If you don't receive this notification, check your external SPAM filter and set emails from myUSAi as "Not SPAM".
 
If you want a custom password you can remember, just login with your username and current password, and navigate to Manage My Account. Then create your custom password. 

I forgot my username, what do I do?

ANSWER:  Click on the Contact Us link and send us the email address you used when you registered with myUSAi.  We will send you the username associated with that email.  This email must match the email address you are using.

How do I find friends at myUSAi?

ANSWER:  Login with your username and password. Then press the "FIND MEMBERS" button in the Community Menu.  Fill out your search criteria, such as birth country, nationality, or sex.  Then press the "SEARCH" button.  You can directly contact any member in your search results using our internal email system by clicking "VIEW DETAILS", then "SEND MESSAGE".

I want to invite more friends to join myUSAi, but if I win a cash prize, how will I know if I won?

ANSWER:  We will contact all Tell A Friend contest winners directly by email.  Here is the link to the contest rules.

How do I enter the 2009 green card lottery (DV-2011) via myUSAi?

ANSWER: The open registration for the 2009 lottery will likely begin in early October 2009 and run until early December 2009. Registration is FREE. There is no need to use a paid lottery service, unless you want your application to be checked for errors. The only "hard" part is getting a digital (passport) photo of the right size and resolution into the computer.  For this, you may decide to use a lottery service provider. To enter via myUSAi during the open registration period,  Join myUSAi, then Login with your username and password. Navigate to the FREE GREEN CARD LOTTERY page and press the Click Here to Register Now FREE link. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and answer "YES" to the question, "I want to be entered in the U.S. Green Card Lottery for FREE", then press the SAVE button.  On the next page, press the ENTER THE LOTTERY button.  You will be redirected to the Official U.S. State Department web site.

Do you accept standard photos and printed green card lottery applications? 

ANSWER:  No, myUSAi no longer accepts hardcopy applications with regular (printed) photographs for entry in the electronic diversity visa lottery.  This process was too labor intensive and our resources too limited. If you need a full service lottery provider who accepts printed applications, we recommend you use one of the fee-based lottery services recommended in Reviews by myGreencard.com.

When will the 2009 edition of "Win the Green Card Lottery!" be available?

ANSWER:  It is now available. For a full description, please visit myGreencard.com's Contents Page.  Remember, do not rely on information in past editions, since the State Department changes qualifying information and registration dates each year.
